Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 April 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the FundGenius website and tools. FundGenius is a trading name of Applied AI Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17192679, whose registered office is at Eastwood, 29 Breach Lane, Leicester LE9 7FB (“FundGenius”, “we”, “us”).

By accessing or using our website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. What FundGenius provides

FundGenius is an AI-powered grant search and application tool that helps UK businesses:

  • Discover UK and European grants they may be eligible for.
  • Draft and develop grant application content using AI assistance.
  • Track live grant deadlines and funding opportunities.

FundGenius does not submit grant applications on your behalf. All submissions to funders are made directly by you through the relevant funder’s own portal or process. We are a software tool, not a grant writing agency.

3. No guarantee of funding

Grant funding decisions are made entirely by the relevant funding bodies (e.g. Innovate UK, European Commission, DASA). FundGenius makes no representation or warranty that using our tools will result in a successful grant application or any award of funding. Eligibility assessments provided by our tool are indicative only and should not be relied upon as definitive guidance.

4. Accuracy of grant information

We update our grant database daily and take reasonable steps to ensure accuracy. However, grant programmes can change at short notice. You are responsible for verifying current deadlines, eligibility criteria, and application requirements directly with the funding body before applying. FundGenius accepts no liability for losses arising from reliance on information that has since changed.

5. Your responsibilities

When using FundGenius you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your business and projects.
  • Use our tools only for lawful purposes.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy our platform or data.
  • Ensure any application content you submit to funders is accurate and truthful, and is your own work.

6. Use of AI

Our tools do not write your application. The optional wording pass takes text you have already written and improves its clarity and concision; it is instructed to add no facts, figures, claims or examples, and an empty answer produces nothing. UKRI classes improving English and formatting as minimal use of generative AI which does not require declaration, and forbids generating an application, or any section of one, without human involvement. We are built to that line.

You remain responsible for reviewing and verifying everything you submit, and for complying with the generative AI policy of the funder you are applying to, which may differ from UKRI’s. FundGenius accepts no liability for inaccuracies or omissions in content you submit to a funder.

7. What you pay for

Most of FundGenius is free and has no payment attached: the grant database, eligibility matching, each competition’s published question set, its word limits, the live word count on each answer, and the assessment criteria. Two things are paid.

Grant alerts are a subscription at £5 a month or £50 a year, giving the weekly email described on our pricing page. It renews automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time: ask for your billing link on the alerts page, use the link in any alert email, or contact us and we will cancel it for you within one working day. Cancelling stops the next payment; access continues to the end of the period already paid for. We do not refund part of a period you have already used.

An application pass is a single payment of £199 for one named competition. It is not a subscription and does not renew. It gives access to the pre-sift check on your draft and to the wording pass for that competition until that competition closes, with a minimum of 60 days from purchase. A pass for one competition does not work for another. Where we hold no closing date we can stand behind for a competition we do not sell a pass for it, and the pre-sift check is open on it at no charge.

Prices are in pounds sterling and include any applicable tax. Payment is taken by Stripe; we do not see or store your card details. We may change our prices, but a change never affects a pass you have already bought or the period of a subscription you have already paid for.

8. Cancellation and refunds

If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content and get your money back. That right is lost once we begin supplying the content, if you asked us to begin and acknowledged that you would lose it — which is what the confirmation box at checkout is for. An application pass works the moment it is issued, so if you tick that box and use the pass, the 14-day right no longer applies.

If you buy a pass and have not used the wording pass on any answer, write to us within 14 days and we will refund it in full. We would rather refund someone who found it was not for them than keep £199 and an unhappy customer.

Beyond that, we will refund a pass if it did not work and we could not make it work, or if you were charged more than once for the same thing. We do not refund an unsuccessful grant application: whether you are funded is decided by the funder and is not something we control or claim to influence.

Refunds go back to the card used and are issued through Stripe. To ask for one, reply to the email carrying your pass or write to us at the address in section 14.

9. Keeping your pass

There are no accounts. A pass is identified by a link, which we email to the address used at checkout and which your browser also remembers. If you lose it — a new computer, or cleared browsing data — use “Already bought a pass?” on the competition page and we will email the link again to the address that paid. Keep the email; it is the durable copy.

Your application draft is saved in your own browser and is not sent to us. We cannot recover a draft you lose, which is why the workspace offers an export.

10. Intellectual property

The FundGenius platform, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Applied AI Solutions Ltd and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or redistribute our content without written permission. Content you create using our tools (e.g. your application drafts) remains yours.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FundGenius shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of our platform, including missed grant deadlines, unsuccessful applications, or reliance on grant information provided.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of £100 or the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

12. Availability

We aim to keep FundGenius available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes via a notice on the website.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
